Zinc Coating Cr+3 Yellow Passivation

Trivalent (Cr+3) yellow passivation is an environmentally friendly surface treatment applied after electrolytic zinc plating, providing high corrosion resistance. The passive film layer formed enhances corrosion resistance on the zinc coating while improving overall surface performance.

Compared to hexavalent systems, Cr+3 yellow passivation offers higher thermal stability and, with its heavy metal-free structure, complies with WEEE, RoHS, and ELV directives. It is applied on zinc coatings in accordance with the EN ISO 2081 standard and provides high corrosion resistance under ISO 9227 salt spray test conditions.
